Grand Interactive is venturing even further into interactive 3D. We are proud to have developed one of the first interactive 3D museum-based apps, which is a deeply immersive experience. For this project, an internationally renown Boston-based museum asked us convert a famous exhibit into an interactive web module and mobile app. We created a graphical interface that enables users to interact with the exhibit’s 16th century objects without traditional mouse buttons, using a more intuitive method of control that approximates the experience of holding the objects in person.
3D Cell App
Platforms: iPad / iPhone
Links: iPad: itunes.apple.com/us/app/3d-cell-simulation-stain-tool, iPhone: itunes.apple.com/us/app/3d-cell
This app has been very successful. It allows users to rotate a biological cell and zoom in on any cell structure. In addition, the app allows users to browse through videos that demonstrate uses of the company’s products.
Cell Imaging Station Virtual Demo for Desktops & Tablets
Client: Life Technologies
Platforms: All (Desktops, tablets, etc.)
Link: lifetechnologies.com/FLoid
A virtual demo project, the client sought to place a virtual version of a product online, fully featured, to reach as broad an audience as possible. As such, the work was created to work on both tablets and desktop computers. The module was written in HTML5 and created an experience that matched the real-world experience exactly; in particular, the interactivity of using a microscope, which required craft not typical of an online experience.
Student-designed Web Module
Client: Newton North High School

Customizable Info Web Apps
Client: Northeastern University
Description: Northeastern needed 3 Flash modules: a video player, a module with a blurb, and a quiz. The university required that these modules be easily updatable by XML in such a way that any administrator could modify them. Furthermore, each module had to be accessible by keyboard and legible by screen readers

His four patents attest to his abilities of things that can barely be seen with the human eye. Now, his interests lie with bigger things, the mobile app market and its explosive growth. Having learned the finer points of product development and technology commercialization, David is applying those lessons to the mobility ecosystem. As VP of Business Development, David is positioning Grand to better serve customer’s needs in this new and evolving medium. David received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and his M.E. degree from the University of New Mexico.
